Deleting Your Data

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This page explains which of the things you create in Collaro you can delete on your own, without closing your account, and which records stay with us. It summarises, for convenience, what our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service say; where this page and those documents differ, those documents apply. To close your account entirely, see Account Deletion.

1. Data You Can Delete Yourself

The following is removed from our records when you delete it in the app. It is not kept in a hidden state, and it does not come back if you later delete and restore your account.

  • Dogs (Owners). Open My Dogs from the side menu, tap the delete (bin) button on the dog’s card and confirm. The dog and its details are deleted, and its photo is deleted from our image host. A dog cannot be deleted while it is part of an active booking — a pending request or an ongoing stay; you can delete it once those bookings are completed, cancelled or rejected.
  • Services (Providers). Open Services from the side menu, open the service and delete it. Before it is deleted you are shown what the deletion will affect: any pending requests for that service are cancelled automatically. A service cannot be deleted while it has accepted bookings that have not yet been completed — you can disable it in the meantime so that it stops taking new bookings.
  • Photos. Your profile photo, a dog’s photo and the images in a Provider’s gallery can be removed from the screen where you edit them. The file is deleted from our image host, subject to the limits in “What Deletion Cannot Reach” below.
  • Saved payment methods. A saved payment method can be removed in the app, and is removed automatically if you delete your account.
  • Details you have written. Optional free-text fields — such as a dog’s notes or a Provider’s biography — can be edited or cleared at any time from the same screens.

2. Records You Cannot Delete

Some records describe something that happened between you and another user. They are that person’s record as much as yours, so the app does not offer a way to delete them:

  • Bookings and invoices. A booking and its invoice are the record of an agreement between an Owner and a Provider, and are retained.
  • Reviews. Reviews currently cannot be edited or deleted after submission.
  • Messages. A message you have sent stays in the conversation for the person you sent it to.
  • Identity verification (Providers). The ID image and the selfie used for the automated check are never stored by us; we keep only the result, the reasons for any rejection, and the time of the check. That result is retained while your account is deleted and is removed only if you ask us to erase your data permanently.

If you would like any of this erased, ask us at contact@collaro.app. We may still need to retain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements.

3. What Is Marked as Deleted Rather Than Removed

Two things in Collaro are not physically removed when they stop being visible, and we want to be precise about them:

  • Your account. Deleting your account marks it as deleted and hides it everywhere on the Platform, but the data on it is kept so that you can restore the account later. While it is in that state it is not an active account: it cannot sign in, be found, be booked or be messaged. See Account Deletion.
  • The details a past booking kept. When a booking is made, the app stores its own copy of the dog’s and the service’s details as they were at that moment. Deleting the dog or the service afterwards removes it from your account, but does not change that copy, so a completed booking and its invoice still show what was actually booked. Where a deleted dog’s photo is part of such a copy, the image is kept for the booking rather than deleted.

Where a retained record involves someone who has deleted their account, that person’s name is shown as a generic “deleted user”.

4. What Deletion Cannot Reach

When you delete an image, we make a best effort to delete the corresponding file from our image host; copies may persist for a period in caches outside our control, and externally hosted images (such as a Google profile picture) are not stored or deleted by us.
