Account Deletion

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your Collaro account, what happens to your data when you do, and which records we keep. It summarises, for convenience, what our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service say about account deletion; where this page and those documents differ, those documents apply.

1. How to Delete Your Account in the App

You can delete your Collaro account yourself, at any time, from inside the app:

  1. Open the Collaro app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Open the side menu using the menu button in the top bar.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  5. Read the confirmation screen — it tells you what will happen to your bookings and, for Providers, to your subscription — and confirm.

Deleting the account signs you out on every device immediately.

If you can no longer sign in, or you would prefer that we handle it for you, email us at contact@collaro.app from the address on your Collaro account and ask us to delete it. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

2. When Deletion Is Not Available Yet

To protect commitments that are already in progress, deletion is not available while any of your bookings is accepted and not yet concluded. Cancelling an accepted booking normally requires the other party’s approval, so please wait for those bookings to complete, or cancel them by mutual agreement, first. (If the other party has already closed their account, you can cancel such a booking on your own.)

When the deletion does go through:

  • Any pending booking requests that have not yet been accepted are cancelled automatically.
  • Any open payment-confirmation request you are involved in is closed.
  • An active PRO subscription stops renewing — it runs to the end of the period already paid for, with no further charges and no refund for that period.

3. What Happens to Your Account and Your Data

Deleting your account deactivates it rather than erasing it. The account is hidden from other users and can no longer be used until it is restored: it does not appear anywhere on the Platform, it is not searchable or visible to other users, and it cannot sign in or act normally.

We keep the data on the account — your name and email address, your dogs and their photos, your provider profile and its images, your services, your identity-verification result, your profile photo, your reviews and your messages — so that the account can be restored later.

Your saved payment methods are the exception: they are removed when the account is deleted and are not restored with it.

If you want your data erased instead of deactivated, see “Asking Us to Erase Your Data Permanently” below.

4. Restoring Your Account

To restore your account, sign in with your existing credentials and verify a one-time code we email to your account address. Verifying it re-activates the account with your data intact.

5. Asking Us to Erase Your Data Permanently

If you would like your data permanently erased rather than deactivated, or you would like a copy of it, ask us at contact@collaro.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

When an image is deleted, we make a best effort to delete the corresponding file from our image host; copies may persist for a period in caches outside our control, and externally hosted images (such as a Google profile picture) are not stored or deleted by us.

6. Records We May Keep

Some records remain even after an account is deleted or erased. We may retain certain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements. Records that describe something that happened between you and another user — a past booking, its invoice, a review, or an earlier conversation — also remain with that other person, because they are that person’s record as much as yours.

A retained record is not an active user account. It cannot sign in or act on the Platform, it does not appear in search or anywhere else in the app, it cannot be booked, messaged or reviewed, and it receives no notifications. Where such a record is shown to the other person involved, your name appears to them as a generic “deleted user” rather than your real name.

7. Deleting Only Part of Your Data

You do not have to close your account to remove content you have added. Dogs, services and images can be deleted individually from the app — see Deleting Your Data.
